Yay for early money!!

For those of you eagerly awaiting your tax rebate checks will rejoice at the Treasury Department's announcement that they're depositing the checks ahead of schedule. Their original announcement stated that May 2 would be rebate check opening day, but they've updated their schedule with the early start date of Monday, April 28.

If the IRS has your direct deposit information then your check will be deposited earlier than those who will receive their check in the mail. However, the mailed checks will also be sent a week ahead of schedule and mailings will begin on May 9. All rebates will be distributed according to the last two digits of your social security number as originally stated. While the IRS hasn't come out with a new schedule, I've updated their old one to reflect the newly announced dates.

BPA...What's the Big Deal??

For the past several years, research scientists have increasingly warned manufacturers and consumers about the potential dangers of bisphenol-A, a plastic softener used in the production of polycarbonate plastic commonly used in baby bottles due to its durability and clarity..unbeknownst to me I didnt realize how many potential reprecussions could result in the use of these products. Including but not limited to early puberty in girls and fertility issues in boys (sperm production, etc)...I have never been the type to be overly concerned about things but as I have been researching this topic more and more it has really opened my eyes to what I can do as parent. There are so many more toxins in the world now that if I can do one small thing that may prevent many problems in the future for my kids, then Im all about it! I have found 2 great blogs that really spelled it out on what is considered safe vs. unsafe.

This is the first one:

...and the second

**I know for some of you with older children this may not concern you but if you plan on having any more babies that will use a bottle, teether or sippy cup you may just want to be aware of whats being put in the plastic!!(Lets just say I had no idea 90% of Jacobs bottles, sippy cups and teethers contained BPA!, needless to say they are all getting thrown out and we'll be using Born Free or the Playtex drop ins with Ava!)..hope this helps!here is a quick diagram if you dont have a lot of time!

Earth Day...as retold by Amy!

My good friend Amy wrote this today on http://www.godmadeplaydough.blogspot.com (her blog) and I thought she explained it perfectly!! (Thanks girl!)

In honor of Earth Day, I want to remind us of Genesis 1:1. It was God who created this earth that we are celebrating, so I suggest today, instead of celebrating the earth, celebrate the God who created the earth! This is our Father's World!

Rain, Rain, Go Away....

...come again another day
...ok come on now seriously...this nasty weather is starting to get old...fast! Last weekend was just a teaser come back sun!!! Nevertheless the snow/wind/hail and rain couldnt stop us from enjoying our day at the Spring Fair!! At first we contemplated not going but around 11ish it started to clear up and we thought oh why not! We're Washingtonians, whats a little rain! So we packed our stuff, layered up, and off we went! My mom came with us too which made Jacobs day!! 95% of the time we were there, it was clear and mild out...there was one bout of rain and we just went to the animals in the barn when that happened!! So all in all it was worth the risk...and it gave us something to do for the day!! My mom took Jacob from the fair so we could get ready for dinner at our friends house tonight...I was responsible for dessert so I went and picked up the stuff for that while Steven went to the church to work on some electrical stuff...the break was very relaxing and it was so nice to be able to focus on one task and not have to wonder what Jacob was getting into from there we enjoyed a great dinner with 3 other couples and had a great time of fellowship!! Not to mention, I got to play with their 7lb pomeranian!! Oh My Goodness!! I am in love My parents offered to just take Jacob for the night so we could get some stuff done so as Steven worked on Ava's closet and molding while I got her baskets completed!! They are a light wood colored basket with yellow liners that my mom made and I tied a coral-ish thick ribbon around them...(will post pics very soon!) I was debating on the wall letters...for one reason and one reason only...I wanted to make 100% sure we are going to use Ava Rose...which we are and so Christia..if you are reading this..it's a go for those adorable letters one of the last remaining projects I am responsible for. But believe it or not we're about 90% done and its so relieving!! I know a lot of people aren't into the "nursery" thing, or its not a high priority on the list but for some reason I've always enjoyed decorating baby's rooms...if we ever had the extra money and I had more time I'd love to start my own business doing just that. It will probably never happen, but heck I can dream right?? I've had so much fun doing Ava's room and can't wait to get the "Big Boy Bed" and furnitur in order to finish his. In all actuality, my jobs pretty easy...its Steven who really changes the rooms as well as my mom who can sew anything so its just me putting the concept together and "accessorizing!" regardless its my own little "passion" and I might as well have my say now before Ava and Jacob can choose their own "style" hehe!! I took Jake to the mall yesterday just to get out and we had a great time, we got a corn dog and played in the kids area as well as picked up a couple smaller sized outfits for Ava () just want to make sure we have enough.. she has a lot of 9month + clothing but not a whole lot of infant sizes and since Im not having a shower I wanted to be extra prepared!! I personally know of 3 baby showers and 1 bridal shower this weekend as well as 1 more bridal shower Im going to next weekend!! Wow!! Tis that time of year for weddings!! I cant believe Steven and I will be celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary on Thursday...and today marked the day 7 years ago when we started dating!! I cant believe it...I was only 17 and now 2 houses later and 2 kids later here we are, happier than ever!!! Speaking of my hard working man...time to go bring him some ice cream and relax...kid free!!

Goodnight

Jacobs New Do!!

We finally broke down and got Jacobs hair cut today!! My great friend Danielle made a house call and cut all of our hair today!! It was so nice having her come over...not to mention getting to watch Judge Judy while getting a head massage!! ...Thats the good life!! He did great, we occupied his time by putting his favorite show on the tv and gave him a sucker he sat in Stevens lap and did great!! We're all trimmed up for the summer!! I got a call from my Doctor the other day letting me know I passed my glucose test!! That the first test I'd passed in a while...needless to say I celebrated by eating some chewy chips-ahoy chocolate chip cookies!! I was afraid with all the Coke Id been drinking and sugar I'd been eating I was surely going to fail, but I guess the only place its going is to my hips!! Thats what gym memberships are for right?? Although I do have a new enemy... my sciatic nerve and I are not getting along at the moment. Its tolerable because it only effects me when Im laying on my back (which I know I shouldnt be doing anyways) or trying to roll over in bed...thankfully my Dr gave me a perscription for "Massage Therapy" so I will hopefully be starting that very soon!! I also figured out I have diastasis recti aka a torn ab muscle...it sounds a lot worse than it really is but Im no longer able to do my ab workouts...I was really worried it would effect my pushing while in labor (pending Im able to do that) but my Dr said its actually quite a common occurance and not to worry at all...phew..other than my pinched nerve and seperated ab muscle Im doing great On friday our church had a salad and dessert social where we all got to try everyones dishes and then we were given a cute little recipie book to take home and make for ourselves if we ever wanted to! I was a fun time!! Jacob spent the night with Stevens parents and it was a nice break which allowed Steve to get a lot done in Avas room! On Saturday, we went to a memorial service for a friend from church; we know he is in Heaven now and that makes the grieving a little easier to deal with and what a beautiful day to remember him!! Afterwards we picked Jacob up and took him to the Orting daffodil festival! He had a great time, there were so many activities for kids to do in the park which kept Jacob quite entertained! That night I was able to sneak out and go to Christys spa party! It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to get my order!!! Sunday after church we were able to go to lunch with our good friends Chris and Angela! We enjoyed ourselves as it had been a long time with just the 4 of us (and the kiddos!) After Jacob woke up from his nap, I took him outside to help Steven do some shoveling in the back yard, it was so cute to see him try and mimic his dad; you could tell he was so proud of himself! Like father, like son!! I am so blessed with a great family and wonderful friends!!

Off to celebrate life with another cookie

Toodles!

One More Day...

*Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play.

*Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.

*Just for this afternoon, I will turn off the phone and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.

*Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck and I will buy you one if he comes by.

*Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decisi on I have made where you are concerned.

*Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you trying to fix them.*Just for this afternoon, I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal soyou can have both toys.

*Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you.

*Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry.*Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.

*Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favorite TV shows.*Just for this evening when I run my finger through your hair as you pray, I will simply begrateful that GOD has given me the greatest gift ever given.

*I will think about the mothers and fathers who are searching for their missing children, the mothers and fathers who are visiting their children's graves instead of their bedrooms, and mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly, and screaming inside that they can't handle it anymore.

*And when I kiss you good night I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then, that I will thank GOD for you, and ask Him for nothing, except one more day.

Hello 3rd Trimester....

I did it again...went another week without blogging... :( I had a Dr appt this morning...drank my fruit punch glucola a.k.a. "the flat, distilled, sugary, nasty crap!!" After choking it down I met with my Dr and we heard the heart rate beating strong at 156!! I bet the glucola had something to do with her being so active too!! Im no longer at my prepregnancy weight...yup...it had to go up sometime eh?? ...I guess I should regulate my daily intake of Coke and Reeses pieces :) ((as I shove a handful of them into my mouth)) I signed my consent forms for my VBAC and was thrilled to hear that she will try everything in her power to allow me to succeed...I completely understand that I am not in control and God may have different plans but as of now, it’s still a go :) My dad came over this morning to watch Jacob and I had to laugh because he loves to clean (I think thats where I get it from) but I intentially tried to have the house spotless for him so he wouldnt feel obligated to tidy up...I was wrong...he found the 2 hidden spots I’d yet to clean...the microwave and the flippin oven!! LOL...I was dying laughing..seriously..the oven??? The oven still had a while yet until it was done so he said he would stick around our house and eat his lunch until it was done so I could go eat lunch with my friends :) Im so apprecatative of my parents...they are so much help!! I was able to schedule a lunch date with my good friends Christia and Suzie and we went to Applebees for some yummy food!! Not to mention the kids meals were less than 3.00!! I was impressed :) During lunch I got a call from the nurse at my Dr’s office notifying me that I was anemic...of all the things she could have been calling about it was much to my relief that it was just low iron...I had the same thing happen with Jacob so it was no surprise...I just have to take some iron supp. with a glass of OJ in the morning :) Other than that I will wait a couple of days for the result of my glucose test and pray that I dont have to do the 3 hour test...ugh!!! **I did have an old fashioned doughnut last night at church...ahhh...I hope that doesnt effect the results! I made my first official Craigslist purchase last night and we got Ava a new crib!! It is a White sleigh crib (3 in 1) and was in immaculate condition! We just couldnt pass it up...alas...a new addiction...(thanks Morgan!) We also painted Ava’s room this weekend...Steve will add the can lights and ceiling fan tonight and hopefully put up the molding this week too...(Then I can post some pics :)! We have our annual Bible Conference this week which has kind of put a knot into getting house projects done but it’s well worth it because we have a great speaker and he’s been talking about the rapture...very interesting!! Wednesday Steven and I will be heading up north for our 3d/4d ultrasound!! I am so excited to see what her little face looks like..We looked at Jacobs 3d u/s pictures last night and we could definatley see the resemblance to what he looked like as a newborn...its amazing! Im praying for at least one good shot...but I do understand its for students to learn and since Im getting paid for it, I cant be too picky! I feel like Im forgetting something but I guess thats becoming all too normal lately...ugh!!
3rd Trimester here I come!!

Adios!!
